Another long weekend of cleaning out the grandparents' house. Bler. This wouldn't be taking so long if my mother hadn't insisted on keeping *every single* piece of crafting material my grandma had. And Grandma was a crafter. A big time crafter. In other words, we now have roughly five thousand skeins of yarn that we're going to try to sell. Here's hoping they go.

I did find something... interesting over there. A romance novel called Summer in Sodom. The plot? A young man has to make a decision between living as a heterosexual or being gay and out. Written in 1964, so it likely belonged to my Grandma. I'm not sure what to think about this yet.

We did take this morning off, though, and went to the Titanic exhibit at the Great Lakes Science Center. Now, that was fun. Tons of interesting artifacts, and there was even a recreation of a first class hallway and room, as well as a third class hallway and room. At the entrance to the exhibit, you're given a replica ticket with the name of an actual passenger, and, of course, the class that passenger traveled on. Essentially, you see if you live or die. My mom and my sister both got first class passengers. I got stuck down in third class. (Mrs. John Bourke, if you're interested) They both lived, I didn't. Bleh. The exhibit emptied into a gift shop, as all good exhibits and rides must nowadays. Some of the things were cool, and some were pretty morbid. There was a snowglobe that had both the ship and an iceberg floating inside it, so that when you shook the snowglobe, they collided. That is the only thing I stared at in horror there. There were also necklaces made of Titanic coal, replicas of the first, second, and third class china, replicas of jewelry found in the wreck... But I did participate in the commercialization by buying a pin made to look like a Titanic boarding pass. I couldn't help it!
