Sep. 25th, 2002 02:39 pmVH1 did another one of the 100 Greatest Whatever shows recently. This one was the 100 Sexiest Artists. Like I trust VH1 to tell me who's *really* sexy. Please. Of course, the list was laugh inducingly off. On what planet are Britney Spears (8) and Jennifer Lopez (3) sexier than Kylie Minogue (27)? They slightly redeemed my faith in humanity by putting David Bowie in the top twenty (12). The males in the top ten were pretty good (Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, Prince) but Tina Turner got gypped. Six? Pah.
At any rate, I *finally* got around to watching Moulin Rougue. Loved loved loved loved LOVED it. Of course, I love musicals, so the whole "burst into song" thing has never bothered me. (as long as it's not, "How do I feel? Weeeeeell! *faces the audience and sings loudly and brightly*") Plus, I think the unconscious Argentinean falling through the ceiling was a clue not to take the movie *too* seriously. Ewan can belt. That's my man. Nicole Kidman has a lovely voice, I thought, but not nearly as strong as Ewan's. But then, the boy almost knocked me off my feet the first time I heard him sing Your Song, so... The story was, terrifyingly enough, almost like something I would RP. I'm ignoring any bunnies that may hop along and threaten to bite. I'm doing enough evil in the next few months, thanks. But great story, great ending, fun music. And costumes! Pretty pretty costumes! I would kill for that red dress. Hell, I'd kill for one of those can-can costumes. Glad I watched it alone, though, cause I entirely lost it. Why why why was Ewan not given at least an Oscar nom?
