Ok, first off, I work at a library. I'm the person who checks your books out. Hi. Please make sure you put your videos and CDs and DVDs back in the right cases, tankies muchly. But the source of my rant is somebody I work with. Now, back when I was a page (that would be those that put the books back on the shelves) she was a boss of mine. Now, however, she's not. And I'm not entirely fond of her anyways. At any rate, about a week ago she brought me a cart full of videos and DVDs to unwrap and put stickers and barcodes on. Now, this cart holds roughly one hundred videos and DVDs. Possibly more. There are two to three stickers per video, and the barcodes come in two parts. In short, a hell of a lot of work. It took me two work days to do. The second day while I was doing this, one of the pages came up to me and said, "How'd you get stuck with that? That's a page job!" Alright, annoyance one. Then I get two different busywork jobs this week. Not just busywork, but time consuming, mind numbing busywork. Why am I doing this stuff, some of which isn't even my job, some of which can be done by others, assigned by somebody who isn't even my boss anymore? I'm just terribly annoyed by all this. Grrrr.
