Jul. 19th, 2002 06:48 pmI didn't read *nearly* as much today... I only got through two and a half TPBs. But I will read that top 100 if it kills me. Which it might, considering how difficult some of these books may be to find... Here's hoping Borders will have them. But here's what I read today:
Avengers: Under Siege: Meh. I simply don't care much about any of the Avengers. Not my team. The story was shocking. Brutal, and it broke all the rules. For that alone, it deserves to be honored. Taking chances is far too rare anymore.
Spider-Man: The Death of Gwen Stacey: Talk about taking chances. Drug addiction, death of a main character- *permanent* death, Jean Grey. Huge risks, and done very well, with characters that I cared about. I have never read Spider-Man on a regular basis, but... He's *Spidey*. How can you not like the wallcrawler? I'm surprised that this book didn't make it onto the top 100.
Infinity Gauntlet: This would be the book I'm halfway through. Ok, I'll admit it, I'm involved. I may not know or care about most of the characters, aside from Spidey and, possibly, Wolverine, but I am involved. I'll finish this one off tomorrow, and see if the ending is satisfying at all. I'm look at you, Superman:Man of Tomorrow.
