Jul. 20th, 2002 09:22 pmI did a lot more reading today than I thought I would. Mostly because I did nothing but read all day. Yay? I finished off Infinity Gauntlet, and got through JLA: Earth 2, Avengers: Ultron Unlimited, Batman/Huntress: Cry For Blood, Wolverine: Blood Debt, Batman: Haunted Knight, and started off The Complete Concrete.
Infinity Gauntlet: They kept me hooked. Something about an impossible fight... Good ending, though, and some decent plot twists.
JLA: Um... Still not sure what I think of that one. A world where evil is good and good is evil and evil always wins. Weirdness.
Avengers: Ok, two impossible fights in one day? Alright then. Not quite as suspenseful as Infinity Gauntlet, but interesting, in its own way.
Batman/Huntress: Oh, my, I loved this one. Not much superhero stuff, more mafia and intrigue and Godfather type stuff. But seriously coolies. I knew little about Huntress before this, aside from that she had a cool costume, but this was great. Almost made me want to go out and start buying up back issues with her.
Wolverine: This one was set just after I quit reading monthlies. Ah, nostalgia. So I totally missed this storyline the first time around, by about three or four issues. Nice that Logan finally got around to seeing Amiko, and I do have a soft spot for Yukio, but other than that... Eh. Where did my great fondness for Logan go?
Haunted Knight: This one was three Batman Halloween annuals. Creepy stuff. Very, very creepy. Well, the first two, the last one was a sort of twisted Christmas Carol type thing. But the first two... Creepy creepy creepy. And did they ever tone down the Mad Hatter for the cartoon... I'm scarred for life now, as if the Arkham Asylum TPB didn't already creep the hell out of me.
Concrete: Thus far, a big meh. It is duty that keeps me going. Like I said, I'll finish that top 100 list if it bloody well kills me. Determined, or just stupid? You be the judge.
I did get one cool thing today: a second hand copy of the video Mind Meld. It is, according to the back of the box, Leonard Nimoy and Bill Shatner chatting about their time on Star Trek. I can't wait to watch it!
