I finally got around to watching Galaxy Quest today. I know, I know, but I've been actively putting it off. I was kinda afraid that it would be all riffing on science fiction fans, and God knows we get enough of that already. Interestingly enough, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the movie was written by a Trekker. It's actually pretty respectful to fandom, believe it or not. Yeah, we're insane. But we make them. And they know it. Or most of them do. I'm looking at you, Chris Carter. *ahem* But anyways, it was a nice, fun movie, and it had Alan Rickman. Mmmmm, Alan Rickman.

I was nervous for the same reasons, but... I adore and venerate that movie. So so much. Shatner-bashing and Blake's 7 references, what more could a geek like me want?

I need to watch it again... I missed the first fifteen minutes and I completely and utterly regret it. There was Alan Rickman in those first fifteen minutes! Alan Rickman, I say!
