Dec. 20th, 2002 08:51 pmI hate it when this thing freezes. *glares* Let's try this again. Ahem.
As I was saying, I read book four of the Double Helix series. I'm really loving this series so far, but I think book three is my favorite. Biological warfare, arrogance getting in the way, presumptions about behavior of interstellar authorities, and unusual characters and time periods. This one was set with the Maquis, just before the Voyager series started up, on Chakotay's ship. Seska and Tuvok were both on board, and Thomas Riker was on the verge of joining with the Maquis. Interesting to see that how clearly much of the Maquis structure was taken directly from Starfleet. Most of the conversations sounded like really really relaxed senior officer banter on any of the series. Can't wait to read the next two.
I also read two graphic novels. First, DC vs. Marvel. I've read that one fifty times or so, and I still love it. I'm not sure what inspired me to get it again. Hm, is it considered canon? I also read volume two of Sojourn. I loved it as much as volume one, but then I've not yet met a CrossGen book I didn't like. I can't wait to get my hands on volume three, and I can't wait for a volume two of Ruse, my favorite so far. But I haven't read Mystic yet, and that's the one I was most interested in. My library system really needs to work on its graphic novel collection.

![]() | Legolas Greenleaf If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Legolas, Elf, a son of the King of Mirkwood. In the movie, I am played by Orlando Bloom. Who would you be? |
